Me Again!

Hi there!
Yes, it's me. Again. I know, I know, this blog is boring. Due to the fact that I don't post here often. I seem to have a short attention span for these sorts of things. But I'll try to get you up-to-date on everything every once in a while. And I'll try - but no promises - to be more active on here.
So... Let's see, what's the biggest news? Oh, yeah. Mama is going to have a new baby, Malachi Arcadius Patton (though Papa says he can still re-decide on a name), any day now! His due date is tomorrow (October 12th), coincidentally the day that Psych starts up again. But who knows! Maybe he'll be born on my birthday (October 18th)!
Speaking of my birthday, I'm turning fourteen in seven days. Oh my goodness, I'm old! My birthday party will be on the 20th, a Saturday. It's going to be small, as usual. Though it might end up being even smaller than usual if Mom thinks that Papa should take me (and anyone invited who wants to come) out to do something. She thinks that the house might be too messy due to everyone being busy with the baby. My original plan was to invite Grandma, Grandpa, and two of my friends from Monday School (our homeschool co-op) over to our house and have tacos and brownies, but Mama, Papa, and I are going to have to talk about what we're actually going to do.
Earlier I found a big, fat, orange spider. I named him "Mr. Halloween Fat Cracker Butt Spider". Yeah, yeah, I'm not very mature to name a spider something like that. But that's just me! Anyways, Cyril and I messed around with it (poked and prodded it with sticks), took a picture, 5 videos, and killed it in the last video. It was disgusting. Its gooey, orange guts flowed out of the paler orange body in a disturbing manner. The large body deflated as Cyril used his stick to roll it around mercilessly in its own insides. Yuck. I'm too good at describing gross scenes. Now I'm going to have a dream that grosses me out. I just know it.
I've started taking horseback riding lessons! After all these years and years of dying to take them, I've finally managed to grab hold of my dream and hold on tight! I'm riding at Sundance Equestrian Arts. The intructor, Carolyn, is really nice. And so are the horses. So far I've met Juliet, Divine Design (or DD), and Teak. I've only ridden Teak, though. She's a chestnut Morgan mare, and she's very sweet. DD is a palomino mare, 6 years old. I think she's a Morgan, too, but I'm not entirely certain. And Juliet is a pinto mare with blue eyes. She's deaf, but a really sweet girl. My friend, Rachel, whom I met at Monday School, rides there, too. She has her lessons on Tuesdays. My lessons are on Wednesdays at 5:30 (or so) PM. But during the time that Papa's going to take time off from work (Thanksgiving to New Year's), I'll be going earlier in the day, since he'll be able to take me earlier. But I'll still have to go to Wednesday School before lessons. So lessons will probably be around 4:00 PM. But I don't know for sure.
That's about all I can think of right now. Maybe I'll remember something later today.
God Bless.
Audrey

Today's Surprise

Mom and I were sitting at the table, playing Scrabble. Papa and the boys were going to get some stuff from some store. Kateri was playing in the front yard.
"Look at my letters," I laughed, holding them up. "They're awful. 'Oooiiie'!" Mom's letters weren't too amazing either. I was talking about my letters when Kateri came in with something dark-colored in one hand. She put her other hand over it.
"What are you holding, 'Teri?" I asked, walking over to her.
"I found a hurt bird in the col-de-sac!" she exclaimed, walking towards us. She moved her hand a little and I saw the dark head of the poor little birdy. "A car went right next to it and it didn't fly away," Kateri informed us.
We now have the little bird in our old "hatch-your-own-butterfly" butterfly habitat thinger-ma-jigger. We gave him some worms and a nice stick to sit on and climb around on. He is a very cute little bird, and Mom says we can keep him until he can fly again.
I hope he recovers soon. He's already flapping around a little now and then. We all think he's quite adorable.

It's Been a Long, Long Time

Remember Arwen, my little black Himalayan rabbit? Well, my sweet little Arwen bunny is turning 1 year old on February 21st! Oh, she's getting so big! I remember when I met my little Arwen. She was so little, so young, and now she's almost a year old. Time flies. It really does.

Speaking of time flying by, it's only 4 years until I graduate! Then comes college, and then vet college. Yes, I'm still set on being a vet. But wow! Only 4 years until I graduate! I'm finding that really hard to believe. Hannah and I will both graduate the same year. I'm going to go to a college really close to home, but then for vet college, I'll have to go a bit farther away.

It's terribly windy here right now. I think it was raining earlier, but it's not at the moment. Hannah did pick the perfect name for this place- The Land of Rain. Ooh, that'd be a great title for a book. Now to think up a plot...

Let's see, what else is coming soon, other than Arwen's birthday? Well, there's St. Patrick's Day and Papa's birthday in March- not to mention Esther's birthday on the same day as Papa's. Then in April we have Uncle Cameron's birthday, and I think Auntie Tirzah's birthday, and isn't Sierra's birthday on the same day? Oh, we can't forget Easter!

Winter is coming to it's end so quickly, and I'll be glad when it does. Summer is certainly my favorite season- at least around here. Why not winter? Because it doesn't snow enough. It's mostly rain. But in the summer, at least it rains less than in any other season. And it stays light out for longer- though that can also be a drawback, since we might have to go to bed when it's light out. Ooh, another bad thing about summer just popped into my head- mosquitoes. Those evil bugs. Those rotten, nasty, vile, stupid pests that give summer an awful problem. I couldn't describe their evilness completely, even if I used a whole dictionary of insulting words. There just aren't any words insulting enough for those foul insects.

I haven't been writing in my blog for along time, have I? Well, I'm sorry, but life has just gotten so busy. Three rabbits, Writing Club homework, Art Class, piano, and more. Time does fly, often too fast. I'd like it to slow down for a little while, let us catch up on things before it continues to speed along its smooth, endless path. I like that sentence. It sounds very, poetic.

I find summer to be the best season for writing poems in. The clear, black velvet skies of the night, with the lanterns of the night hanging from it, and the ruler of the night flying across the sky until the ruler of the day comes to take her place. The magic of the long, warm days, filled with fun and laughter and friends. Just imagining it, I know it's the most magical of all the seasons- at least around here it is. Yes, summer certainly is the best season for writing poems in.

Devil's Punch Bowl

It was really cool!

Trip Home from Newport, Oregon

The Scenery

The Hat-Confiscating Mama

The Cheese-it-eyed Cyril

The Crazy Audrey

The Pippidude

The trip home was-interesting.

Mama had to confiscate the hat because Kateri and Cyril were fighting over it.

Pippin called Cheese-its 'Cheesy Whoz-its".

Pippin and Kateri were dropping Cheese-its on the floor, so Papa asked Mama to take them away from the kids, so Mama did.

I took crazy pictures.

And much much more...

I guess that's all...

Arwen

I`m Back-Colornut

Hello. I`m Audrey. I`m a colornut. Rainbow. Here is how I spell gun: gunm. I did that on accident once, and I think it`s really funny.
There`s nobody I`d rather be,
Than just simple, wonderful, awesome me!
That`s true! There is nobody I`d rather be than me! And I wouldn`t be so great if wasn`t me. Everyody is best at being themselves.
Now, I`m trying to decide between two different breyer horse kits. They`re both the same, except a few things. One is an Arabian that`s walking(I got that one before, a long time ago. It didn`t turn out too well. I still have the horse, but it`s not in great condition. It`s still in one piece, but some of the paint came off of the face, back, and various other parts of it`s body.). The other is a horse that standing. The Arabian comes with black and white hair, and the other one comes with brown and a different color. The standing horse is at ToysRUs for $12.99. They might have the other one, but last time we were there(Friday), they only had the standing one. On Amazon the Arabian is $19.75 and the standing one is $16.88. If I do get one, I`ll probably get it from ToysRUs, `cause they`re cheaper there. Yeah... Me not good at deciding. Standing: http://www.amazon.com/My-Dream-Horse-Customizing-Kit/dp/B001GOSYHU/ref=pd_sim_t_2
I guess that`s all I`ve got to say for now. Bye!
